Orlem Brendan Serrao, a 27-year-old doctor, made the shocking discovery while consuming a butterscotch ice cream. Having eaten half of the cone, he felt something unusual on his tongue and, upon inspection, realized it was a human finger. Serrao’s sister promptly reported the incident to the police.
Mumbai police have registered a case following the complaint and have seized the severed finger, which has been sent for forensic examination. Initial investigations confirmed that the object found in the ice cream was indeed a human finger. The police are conducting a detailed forensic analysis to understand more about its origin.
“We have taken it up seriously,” said a police official, indicating the gravity of the situation. The police plan to inspect the place where the ice cream was manufactured and packed to identify how the contamination occurred.
The complainant, a 26-year-old doctor, had ordered the butterscotch ice-cream cone from the Yummo company via an online app. The police informed PTI, “The piece of flesh, suspected to be a piece of human finger, has been sent for forensic examination to ascertain whether it is a part of the human body.”
